NYC, Nov 10, 2010. Keith Olbermann, returned to MSNBC last night, after being suspended for two days for breaking MSNBC ethics rules by donating money to political candidates.
MSNBC President Phil Griffin told The Spin Cycle that their ratings had dipped even lower without him on the air.
They really had no choice other than to reinstate him.
"I know a dozen viewers doesn't sound like much," Griffin said, "but you have to realize, this is twice as much as Rachel Maddow usually gets."
"MSNBC wants to put this incident behind them as fast as possible and has made it clear that last night was just another day in the office and should be treated as such," Mr. Griffin told us. "And even though Keith won this battle, everyone else who works at MSNBC knows that if they anger the executives they won't get the special treatment Keith got."
