Detroit, Dec 4, 2010. Wayne State University rescinded its "Helen Thomas Spirit of Diversity in Media" award after the former White House correspondent once again made anti-Semitic comments. This time, Mrs. Thomas claimed that the United States is controlled by "Zionists."

Wayne State's Journalism Institute for Media Diversity has given the Helen Thomas award for work that promotes diversity. The award "is no longer helping us achieve our goals," Matthew Seeger, an interim dean said.
This isn't the first time that Thomas has made anti-Semitic comments. In June, she was caught on camera saying that Jews should "get the hell out of Palestine" and go home to "Poland, Germany and America and everywhere else."
Of course, this sort of bizarre behavior raises the question of whether Mrs. Thomas is a bigoted vulgar anti-Semite, or is simply a senile old woman. "It really doesn't matter" Dean Seegar said, "Either way, there is no point in giving out a Diversity Award named after a senile old racist."

Helein Thomas was the daughter of Lebanese immigrants in Detroit, and was once a pioneering political correspondent.
She was the first female officer of the National Press Club and the first female member of the White House Correspondents Association.
President Barack Hussein Obama, D-Kenya, still expresses strong support for Mrs. Thomas' views. "We still get together and read our Holy Qurans" he told us.
