Shocking Expose: Michelle Spent $10M on Vacations

Washington DC, Aug 24, 2011. Inside sources told the National Enquirer today that the First Lady has spent $10 million of U.S. taxpayers' money on vacations alone in the past year.

But according to new reports, this is the least of their extravagances.

While the Bush family was frequently criticized for making frequent trips back home to their ranch in Crawford Texas for weekends, the Obamas seem to take just as much time off the job but prefer to spend it at lavish resorts, taking rooms costing up to $10,000 per night.

They also have a habit of bringing all their friends and campaign donors with them, often at taxpayer expense too. As you can imagine, the costs can really run into a lot of money.

Obama vacations come pretty often, and always seem to include expensive massages, top shelf vodka and five-star hotels. This is why the First Lady is being accused of spending $10m in public money on her vacations

The media has not yet criticized the opulent lifestyle the Obamas are enjoying at taxpayer expense. At least not with the same zeal they had for criticizing the Bushs, whose only crime seemed to be "going home on weekends."

The Obamas' summer break on Martha's Vineyard has already been branded a PR disaster after the couple arrived four hours apart on separate government jets. Because they chose to fly separately, the transportation cost was doubled.

Sources call Michelle's frequent vacationing 'disgusting' and call her 'a vacation junkie." They say the 47-year-old mother-of-two has been indulging in five-star hotels, where she splashes out on expensive massages and alcohol.

One source told the National Enquirer: 'It's disgusting. Michelle is taking advantage of her privileged position while the most hardworking Americans can barely afford a week or two off work.

'When it's all added up, she's spent more than $10million in taxpayers' money on her vacations.' And that is just in the past year.

That amount DOES NOT include all the lavish vacations they took for some diplomatic or official purpose. The cost of those runs into the billions. This $10M is just for the Obama "family getaways" this year.

Affairs of state seem to take a back seat to the Obama vacation plans. Last week President Obama promised to show us his long awaited jobs plan "just as soon as I get back from my nine day vacation on Martha's Vineyard." Incidentally, this is the same jobs plan he promised to show us if we elected him. And we did that over 968 days ago.

The First Lady is believed to have taken 42 days of holiday in the past year, including a $375,000 break in Spain and a four-day ski trip to Vail, Colorado, where she spent $2,000 a night on a suite at the Sebastian hotel.

And the first family's nine-day stay in Martha's Vineyard is also proving costly, with rental of the Blue Heron Farm property alone costing an estimated $50,000 a week.

"Michelle also enjoys drinking expensive booze during her trips. She favors martinis with top-shelf vodka and has a taste for rich sparking wines."

"The vacations are totally Michelle's idea. She's like a junkie. She can't schedule enough getaways, and she lives from one to the next - all the while sticking it to hardworking Americans."
