The jig is up for Muammar |
President Obama has been so successful in carrying forward the Bush foreign policy, and expanding it when appropriate, that he is now ranked as the second most popular candidate for the GOP nomination in 2012.
The President's poll ratings for the GOP nomination fall somewhere between those of frontrunner Rick Perry, D-TX, and third place candidate Mitt Romney, R-MA.
Facing the offensive of the rebels, forces loyal to Gaddafi appeared to have crumbled quickly, and the guard unit responsible for Gaddafi's security had reportedly surrendered to the rebels.
President Obama is calling for Gadafi to step down, saying "The surest way for the bloodshed to end is simple: Muammar Gaddafi and his regime need to recognize that their rule has come to an end," Obama said in a statement. "Gaddafi needs to acknowledge the reality that he no longer controls Libya. He needs to relinquish power once and for all."

A spokesman for Goldman Sachs, one of President Obama's main corporate sponsors, told us "This is really great news... we were shorting Gadaffi. We will make an obscene fortune off this!"
Ironically, the group "Code Pink" which was previously an anti-war protest group, is praising Obama for replacing the brutal dictator Khadaffi with an even more radical Moslem Brotherhood led government.
"This is great news for people like us who hate the USA," a Code Pink spokeswoman told us, on the condition of anonymity. "President Obama has replaced a Libyan regime that was hostile to the USA, with one that really hates the USA even more, and will sponsor even more acts of terrorism against our imperialist capitalist nation."
"It's like we died and went to heaven," she continued, "We can now count on Libya to work closer with Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the DNC to undermine the USA."
Code Pink celebrates a great victory for President Obama |
Informed sources say she is busy selecting a headstone for her son's grave.
Her son, Army Specialist Casey Sheehan was killed in action while serving in the Iraq War in 2004 over more than 7 years ago, but she hasn't had time to select a headstone for his grave yet.
I don't know which makes me sicker, "The Pacifist President" winning an illegal war or the photo of the Code Pink Wenches dissing American troops. Either way, I'm fighting back the nausea.
