First Lady Solicits $3 contributions for Obama Campaign

Hawaii, Dec 31, 2011. First Lady Michelle Obama, speaking from her lavish $4 million vacation and wearing her new $2,000 sun dress is asking her husband's supporters to donate $3 each for his reelection campaign.

Mrs. Obama’s request was part of an email sent to the "Obama 2012" list today:

"Over the next 11 months we’ve got an organization to grow, voters to register, and people to get fired up.

I hope you’ll close out this year by donating $3 or more now to help make sure we’re ready for the next one . . .

Thank you so much, and happy new year,

Michelle

 

  P.S.—Also, when you donate today, you are automatically entered for a chance to be one of three supporters to have dinner with Barack and me."

 It seems odd that the first lady, who is on a $4 million taxpayer funded vacation, is asking middle to low income earners for three dollars. This is hardly what one might call "shared sacrifice."

Mrs. Obama takes extravagant vacations to Spain, Martha's Vinyard, Ireland, Vail, India, Hawaii and South Africa. And that was just this year! Mr. Obama plays golf constantly and is currently dining at Honolulu’s finest restaurants.

And all the while they are asking their fellow Americans to “sacrifice a little more” during this time of severe economic crisis at home.

But notice the postscript on her email. If you donate today you will be automatically entered in a drawing and you could win one of three chances to have "dinner with Barack and me!"

Guess who will be paying for that one? Yep. You guessed it, the taxpayers will foot the bill again!
