San Francisco, Feb 28, 2011. San Francisco's changed their building codes to require that new construction have low-flow toilets.
And this has turned the city into giant stinkhole!
Cuting the water allowed for each flush in half does save water, but it also results in more sludge backing up inside the sewer pipes.
According to Tyrone Jue, spokesman for the city Public Utilities Commission, this has created a rotten-egg stench near AT&T Park and elsewhere, especially during the dry summer months.
Apparently, the low flow "flush" doesn't provide enough water to move sewage through the pipes fast enough. So some of the sludge sticks to the pipes. Like a septic "hardening of the arteries." And when you have enough of these low flow toilets in an area you end up with a horrible smell.
The city has already spent $100 million over the past five years to upgrade its sewer system and sewage plants, in part to combat the odor problem.
Now officials are stocking up on a $14 million, three-year supply of highly concentrated sodium hypochlorite - better known as bleach - to act as an odor eater and to disinfect the city's treated water before it's dumped into the bay. It will also be used to sanitize drinking water.
This means that 8.5 million pounds of bleach is either being poured down city drains or into the drinking water supply every year.
And some city residents think this is a bad idea.
A "Don't Bleach Our Bay" alert has just gone out from eco-blogger Adam Lowry who says that the city would be much better off using a disinfectant like hydrogen peroxide - or better yet, a solution that would naturally break down the bacteria.
Are the environmentally friendly, low-flow toilets are worth the trouble? They have helped cut San Francisco's annual water consumption by about 20 million gallons.... if you can stand the smell!

Profiles in Stupidity: Congressman Barney Frank
With this issue of the Spin Cycle we are starting a new recurring feature. "Profiles in Stupidity" will highlight the dumbest politicians in America today.
Congressman Barney Frank, D-MA, is the Representative for Massachusetts 4th congressional district, serving since 1981. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He won his first full term in 1980 and has been re-elected ever since by wide margins.
From 2007 to 2011, Frank was the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, which oversees the entire financial services industry including the securities, insurance, banking, and housing industries and was considered to be one of the most powerful members of Congress.
As Chairman of this committee, Frank had a key role in creating all the rules and regulations that forced banks to write bad loans.
He was the architect of the 2008 housing market collapse and financial meltdown, but took absolutely no responsibility for it. He blamed everyone but himself for the crisis.
Congressman Frank then assumed the posture of an innocent bystander rather than a powerful head of the House Financial Services Committee, saying:
Lets look at some things Barney Frank told us before the housing market collapse:
The pressure to make more loans to minorities (read: to borrowers with weak credit histories) became relentless. Congress passed the Community Reinvestment Act, empowering regulators to punish banks that failed to "meet the credit needs" of "low-income, minority, and distressed neighborhoods."
Later, President Clinton and the Democrat Party expanded the CRA, and Attorney General Janet Reno even threatened to throw bank CEOs in prison if they failed to write enough loans to minorities.
Congressman Frank was the chairman of the committee that wrote the rules, and was supposed to regulate and provide oversight for banks. Frank and his party created this mess, and now they act like innocent bystanders. Never before in our history has anyone had as much control and influence over a problem they created, and has so completely disavowed any responsibility for it.

The current financial crisis is the spawn of the free market run amok, with the political class guilty only of failing to rein the capitalists in. The Wall Street meltdown was caused by bad decisions that were made by people in the private sector,"But was this true?
Lets look at some things Barney Frank told us before the housing market collapse:
"The more people, in my judgment, exaggerate a threat of safety and soundness, the more people conjure up the possibility of serious financial loses to the Treasury, which I do not see." Sept 10, 2003
"These two entities, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, are not facing any kind of financial crisis." Sept 11, 2003
"I want to roll the dice a little more in this situation towards subsidizing housing." Sept 25, 2003The roots of this crisis go back to the Carter administration. That was when government officials, egged on by left-wing activists, began accusing mortgage lenders of racism and "redlining" because urban blacks were being denied mortgages at a higher rate than suburban whites.
"Fannie and Freddie are fundamentally sound, they are not in danger of going under... I do think their prospects going forward are very sound." July 14, 2008

Kate and William invite butcher and baker to royal wedding... but not President Obama and First Lady
Prince William and Kate Middleton to wed Apr 29 |
The Royal Couple had decided to limit the guest list to "people we like," so the Obamas have not been invited to attend the event.
"We tried hard to like the Obamas, but after they returned the bust of Sir Winston Churchill, and then gave mummy that iPod with all those dreadful gansta rap songs on it, we really had no choice," Prince William told us.
"This is my wedding, and it's my special day" Ms. Middleton told us. "The very last thing I want is these loud rude Kenyans ruining it with there Electric Slide and Boogie Woogie dances."
It probably didn't help the Obama case either when President Obama gave Russian Premier Vladmir Putin the British atomic bomb serial numbers, in an effort to increase the Obama poll ratings in Moscow.
But plenty of Bucklebury residents will rub shoulders with royalty and celebrities such as David and Victoria Beckham after receiving a gold-embossed invitation from the couple.
Martin Fidler, Butcher |
While the Obamas will not be present, Martin Fidler, the butcher, and his wife Sue are said they were delighted to be on the guest list.
“We’re really looking forward to the day,” said Mr Fidler. “We’ve known Kate’s mother Carole for years, before she met Kate’s father Mike. They’ve got on with their lives, built up a good business and all their children are a credit to them.”
John Haley, Innkeeper |
Ryan Naylor, the village postman, is also on the list, along with John Haley, landlord of the Old Boot Inn where the couple sometimes enjoy a quiet drink.
Mr Haley told us he is really looking forward to attending the Royal Wedding. "This will be a real thrill for me and my entire family," he told us.
Chan Shingadia and Husband Hash |
Mrs Shingadia, 42, said: “We’ve really got to know Kate. She is really caring. She is like a human being, not a celebrity, and she is always a good customer. William is very down to earth”.
The shopkeepers have become so familiar with the couple’s tastes that they ensure they are always stocked up on Haribo sweets, which they both like, and mint Vienetta, which is the Prince’s favourite icecream.
Not invited, and not too happy about it |
Miss Middleton and Prince William are anxious for their guest list to reflect their private mix of friends and acquaintances as well as fellow royals, celebrities and foreign dignitaries.
They said they don't want "low life Kenyan trash ruining their event of a lifetime." A harsh statement, perhaps, but it is their wedding after all.
The wedding will take place on April 29.

Obama Tries to Work His Magic In Wisconsin
Washington DC. Feb 26, 2011. President Barack Hussein Obama, D-Kenya, who has failed miserably in dealing with the federal budget deficit, has decided he will try his hand at "fixing the budget" in Wisconsin.
President Obama has injected himself into an area in which the president of the United States has no authority or business in the first place as he has sent his political operatives to the state of Wisconsin to help organize protests of the governor’s plan to cut back on the union benefits of state employees.
Obama accused Scott Walker, the state's Republican governor, of unleashing an "assault" on unions in pushing emergency legislation that would change future collective-bargaining agreements that affect most public employees, including teachers.
This administration has gone so far as to have SEIU thugs bused in to provide some muscle for the union protesters. With civil wars and rebellions breaking out in the middle east, oil prices surging higher at an alarming pace, and a federal deficit spiraling out of control, you have to wonder where President Obama finds the time to meddle in the affairs of various states.
President Obama campaigned in 2008 on a pledge to "reduce the deficit." He called former President GW Bush "a reckless spender" for having a budget deficit of $240 billion. And during his brief stay in the Senate, he voted against extending the debt ceiling, even though he voted for ever single spending bill that created that debt.
He said he was alarmed when Bush's deficit reached 5% of GDP, but now his own budget defit is at 20% of GDP.
President Obama called former President Bush incompetent for having a $240 billion deficit, while his own one year deficit is eight times larger, at well over $2 trillion.
Even more significant is that President Obama and the Democrat super majorities in Congress added $4 trillion to the national debt in just two short years. The total national debt now stands at 100% of GDP, which means it might take many decades for America to recover.
Having completely botched managing federal expenditures, President Obama now feels confident he has the skill and expertise to manage the Wisconsin state budget.
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is mandated by law to maintain a balanced budget.
Unlike President Obama he cannot print more money or borrow money from China, so that future generations of Wisconsin taxpayers can pay it back.
Plus, since he is a Republican, the media will leap on him with both feet if he fails to follow the law on this.
He won't get a pass on this like President Obama does.

The Spin Cycle Spans the Globe!
This website has only been in existence for a little over 4 months, and it is being read by people in 40 different nations.
And this is despite the fact that it isn't advertised or promoted anywhere. Its not even linked to my other blogs, so I must assume its spreading so fast because people are emailing the link to friends in other countries, or perhaps they are posting the link on their Facebook pages.
The Spin Cycle is popular in India |
Whatever the reason, it's good knowing that the word is getting out about this corrupt administration, and how they are mismanaging and bungling our nation, our economy, and our foreign policy.
We get a lot of visitors from nations in South America, Europe and Asia, and Australia too.

Chris Matthews sports new Obama tattoo
SecaucusNJ, Feb 24, 2011. MSNBC star Chris Matthews has gotten his "tingle leg" tattooed with a portrait of President Barack Hussein Obama, D-Kenya.
"It's just something I always wanted to do" the longtime Obama fan and admirer told us.
President Obama came to the tattoo unveiling ceremony yesterday at the MSNBC studios to show appreciation for his biggest fan.
"I really can't tell you how much this means to me" President Obama said. "Chris is a loyal friend that I can always count on to spin the economic news just the right way for me."
This isn't Matthews' first Obama tattoo. He has several others on his arms and chest.
But this isn't the first time Chris Matthews had developed a strong affection for a president.
Back in 1976 he had a portrait of then President Jimmy Carter tattooed on a more private part of his body.
"That wasn't the same things as this," Mr. Matthews told us.
"That time I was drunk, and didn't know what I was doing. I'm still glad I got it, but it just wasn't the same as my feelings for Obama."

Michelle Obama Does Her Part to Help Economy
Secret Service guards the First Lady and children |
Vail, CO, Feb 22, 2011. First Lady Michelle Obama's visit to Vail caused the resort to shut all three of its runs for security.
This left just one open for Michelle her entourage to go tubing without running into ordinary people who were skiing.
A special tube had to be brought in to accommodate Mrs. Obama's sizable hips. One observer said it seemed to be from a Kenworth tractor trailer.
This was the Ski Resort's busiest time of year, forcing them to turn away paying customers to accommodate the First Lady.
The family appears to have flown to Colorado on Air Force Two, and then took a private jet to the regional airport, followed by a cavalcade of private limos to the resort.
She is staying in a private suite costing in excess of $2,000 a night, with room service extra. Rooms for her staff of handmaidens start at $605 a night, and daily ski passes at Vail without a deal can cost as much as $350 a day, not including ski rentals.
The First Lady, who has spearheaded a campaign to change American eating habits, ate ancho-chile short ribs from a restaurant next to her luxury ski hotel in Vail, Colorado.
The Obamas have already come under fire for the vacation, with the President accused of double standards after appealing for Americans to sacrifice their holidays just days before his wife and children went on the costly skiing trip.
The first lady went to Restaurant Kelly Liken in Vail Village on Saturday night, dining on a braised ancho-chile short rib with hominy wild mushrooms, the Vail Daily reported.
Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh hit out at the First Lady for her choice of food on Monday. Speaking on his radio show he said: 'The problem is, and dare I say this, it doesn't look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritional, dietary advice.
'And then we hear that she's out eating ribs at 1,500 calories a serving with 141 grams of fat per serving ... I'm trying to say that our First Lady does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue or of a woman Alex Rodriguez might date every six months or what have you.
'She's a hypocrite. Leaders are supposed to be leaders. If we're supposed to go out and eat nothing, if we're supposed to eat roots and berries and tree bark, show us how.'
The family are staying at the upscale Sebastian Hotel on Vail Mountain, where rooms start at $650 a night and range up to more than $2,400 for multi-bedroom suites.
Pictured on the first day of their holiday, the First Lady's cream ski jacket was open, perhaps indicating that temperatures were not as bitter as they are in other parts of the country
San Francisco Plans Vote to Ban Circumcision
"Good job Schlomo, A perfect cut!" |
San Francisco. Feb 22, 2011. The left coast city that's that has banned happy meals, Walmart Superstores, bottled water, cigarettes, plastic grocery bags, now has a new ban in the works.
They are planning a ballot referrendum to ban circumcision and it’s stirring up controversy across the state.
“It's definitely a personal choice issue. The government doesn't have any right to be involved,” said Cathy Pope, a Merced resident.
“On a personal level, if I had a baby boy I would not be doing it. But if it's part of their religion and their tradition, then so be it, if they want to do it. Again, it's a parent's choice,” said Armando Arredondo, the father of a nine-month-old girl.
Civil Rights Activist |
But the author of the initiative, San Francisco resident, self described "civil rights activist" Lloyd Schofield sees it differently. “His body doesn't belong to his culture, his government, his religion or even his parents,” said Schofield
The ban would still permit the baby to voluntarily decide to be circumcised once he achieves the age of adulthood. Which is a fairly unlikely prospect when you consider what most 18 year old boys are doing at the time.
More than seven thousand signatures are needed for the initiative to make it onto San Francisco's ballot next November. As for parents who circumcise their boys for religious reasons, the author says they would have to follow the law as well.
Protest rally against barbaric Jewish ritual |
It's part of a national push to end the procedure, which some say is steeped in tradition but poses risks and has little medical benefit. The American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association do not recommend routine circumcision.
In addition to the list of things banned by the city, they have also banned Segway riders (because they encourage laziness), selling baby chicks, selling soft drinks with sugar on city property, and have outlawed travel to Arizona for city workers in protest of Arizona wanting Federal immigration laws enforced.

Striking Teachers Unable to Spell
"OUTLOWED?" |
Many of them were seen holding signs with misspelled words.
This shocking fact is demonstrated by some of the signs they made to protest the new budget. Hopefully, these aren't English teachers.
The Union's main argument seems to be that they need higher pay and benefits so they can improve the quality of the education the children are getting.
"SAV ARE?" |
That sounds reasonable, but we might need to hire and recruit smarter teachers first. Teachers who can spell complicated words like "our" and "outlawed" and "save."
"Kindergarterners" |
"Refudiate" |
Virginia Town Elects Dog to head Civic Association
Washington DC. Feb 20, 2011. A homeowner's association in a DC suburb has elected a dog as their new president.
The Hillbrook-Tall Oaks Civic Association in Annandale, Virginia had a problem getting someone to run for president of their group.
In order to make the meeting move faster, only the names and qualifications of the candidates were announced during the last election.
Running for president, Ms. Beatha Lee was described as a relatively new resident, interested in neighborhood activities and the outdoors, and who had experience in Maine overseeing an estate of 26 acres.
Though unfamiliar with Lee's name, the crowd of about 50 raised their hands, assuming that the candidate was a civic-minded newcomer. These days, it's hard to get anyone to volunteer to devote the time needed to serve as an officer. The slate that Lee headed was unanimously elected. Everyone ate ice cream, watched a karate demonstration and went home.
The duly elected president is actually the pet of the former president, Mark Crawford, who inherited Beatha (pronounced Bee-AH-tah) in 2008 from his mother and stepfather in Maine.
Crawford had served three consecutive terms as president and, according to association bylaws, could not run for the office again.
For weeks leading up to the election, he begged, pleaded and cajoled neighbors to run for the often-thankless volunteer post. No one bit. Newer, younger families told him that they were too busy juggling work, long commutes and kids.
Out of sheer frustration, Crawford decided to put up his dog. And the dog easily won the election, since she was the only candidate running.
So how has the canine managed? "Well, she delegates a lot," Crawford said. "That's what executives are supposed to do - delegate."
The dog occasionally attends the monthly board meetings, usually held the first Tuesday or Wednesday of the month in Crawford's home. "She's sometimes sitting under the table, listening to what goes on," Frederickson said. "Until she gets bored and wants to be let out."
By all accounts the dog is doing a very good job as President of the homeowner's association.

The news broke in the association's newsletter with Lee's promise to "govern with an even paw."

House Votes to Dethrone Czars
Washington DC. Feb. 18, 2011. The House of Representatives voted yesterday to dethrone nine White House “czars.”
These are well paid and very influential "project managers" who are neither elected by the people, nor confirmed by Congress. They simply serve at the will of the President, and are accountable only to him. No one seems to know precisely what they do, or why they were hired.
Many of the Czars duplicate cabinet functions. For example, President Barack Hussein Obama, D-Keyna, has a "Czar for Afghanistan and Pakistan" a "Middle East Czar" and an "Iran Czar." Which makes you wonder what our official Secretary of State is doing.
President Obama has two separate Czars for the "Auto Industry Recovery" (The Auto Czar, and the Auto Worker Czar). And there are multiple Czars for functions normally conducted by the Treasury Department, HUD, HHS, and Homeland Security.
Some critics have suggested that the Czars are the President's shadow government and have effectively replaced the Cabinet, all of whom had to go through the confirmation process, and may be less radical than the Czars are.
Republicans successfully added an amendment to the continuing resolution that would leave President Barack Obama’s senior advisers on policy issues including health care, energy and others out of a job.
The vote was for defunding was 249-179, with 13 fed-up Democrats joining the Republicans to vote against funding. There was one Republican, who is planning to lose in 2012, that voted with the Democrats.
“These unappointed, unaccountable people who are literally running a shadow government, heading up these little fiefdoms that nobody can really seem to identify where they are or what they’re doing,” Scalise said Thursday. “But we do know that they’re wielding vast amounts of power.”
This amendment eliminates funding for these jobs: White House-appointed advisers on health care, energy and climate, green jobs, urban affairs, the closure of the Guantanamo Bay detention center, oversight of TARP executive compensation, diversity at the Federal Communications Commission and the auto industry manufacturing policy.
The amendment would defund the White House “green jobs czar” slot that has been vacant since Van Jones resigned in 2009 after reports surfaced that he signed a petition seeking an investigation into whether the U.S. government was behind the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
“The last green jobs czar we had left in disgrace because he expressed comments embracing communism and actually tried to blame the government, the American government, for September 11th attacks,” Scalise said.
Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) welcomed Republicans’ use of what he called “gender neutral” language to describe the administration’s appointees.
“A large number of the czars would have been called czarinas in the old days,” Frank said. “So I appreciate the fact that we’ve gotten past sex stereotyping of people.”

Wisconsin Teachers Inspired by Egyptian Rioters
Madison WI, Feb 17, 2011. The Wisconsin Teachers Union continues to protest against Gov. Scott Walker's proposal to cut budget deficits.
Around 30,000 protestors gathered in Madison on Wednesday and thousands more continue to pour into the state Capitol today.
School districts across the state cancelled class as teachers threatened to stay home or called in sick.
"We've seen student walk outs, faculty teach-ins, citizens setting up camp overnight in the rotunda. Since Monday, spontaneous rallies have popped up in every corner of the state, denouncing Walker's extremist agenda," the president of the American Federation of Teachers in Wisconsin, Bryan Kennedy explained.
"We feel a strong solidarity with the protesters in Egypt," he added. The teachers in Wisconsin earn between $60,000 and $85,000 a year, including benefits. In Egypt, a teacher earns roughly $6,500 per year. "They riot for bread.... we riot for 32 paid holidays. It's really the same thing."
Walker's proposed changes, which are part of a budget repair bill introduced on February 11, would strip workers of the right to bargain over anything other than wages, which could not rise faster than the Consumer Price Index.
Teachers and other state workers would also no longer be able to negotiate for better pensions or health benefits.
Walker defended the bill on Wednesday, saying "This is all about balancing the budget."
Governor Walker put forth the bill in an effort to curb the state's budget shortfall; Wisconsin is facing an immediate deficit of $137 million for the current fiscal year which ends July 1.
"We must take immediate action to ensure fiscal stability in our state," Walker said when he announced the bill last week.
"This budget repair bill will meet the immediate needs of our state and give government the tools to deal with this and future budget crises."
The bill passed the legislature's budget-writing committee just before midnight on Wednesday with no Democratic support.

Leftwing Plan for "Day of Rage" Fizzles
Washington DC. Feb 17, 2011. The American Radical Left, feeling neglected and unappreciated, had planned "spontaneous" riots and demonstrations for the USA.
They wanted a "Day of Rage" just like the Egyptian people had in Egypt.
However, the plan fell apart once they realized that they already were in full control of the country.
And to make matters worse, and have gotten every single policy they wanted since Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid took over Congress on Jan 4, 2007. The newly elected GOP House hasn't had time to undo any of the damage yet.
They couldn't find a suitable target to riot against, with President Barack Hussein Obama, D-Kenya, in the White House, and the Democrat Cognress having created most of our problems today.
At first, the plan was to riot against "unemployment" just like the riots in Egypt were initially about. But then they realized that President Obama drove the unemployment rate up from 6% to almost 10%, so that idea was shelved.
Then, they considered rioting against "higher gasoline prices," until someone remind them that all new drilling for oil was banned by radical Democrats and the President from Kenya.
And the Democrats also banned building new oil refinaries or new nuclear power plants. More to the point, President Obama is currently "trying to drive the coal industry bankrupt," so this wasn't a suitable cause either.
At one point they had seriously considered rioting against "the immoral and outrageous deficit" until they remembered that President Obama and Nancy Pelosi had driven it up $4 trillion in just two short years. This riot theme had to be abandoned too.
There was some talk about initiating riots over "The GOP winning the House in the last election," but that had to be rejected too, since it might look bad if they rioted against a democratic election.
They finally settled on something they could all agree on, and were planning massive riots against "Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, and Glen Beck."
And this plan had the most appeal for them, until one of the smarter liberals pointed out that none of these people holds a public office or has had anything to do with creating any of the problems we have today. So that plan was scrapped too.
Now they are left with the prospect of rioting against "the completely unsatisfactory ending of the TV show LOST" or they just might have to riot about "having no one to blame but ourselves for the current economic mess."

Congressman Proposes Cutting Funding For President Barack Hussein Obama's Teleprompter
Does President Obama needs help when speaking? |
Washington DC. Feb 16, 2011. The House of Representatives formally began debate, which is expected to last three days, Tuesday afternoon following some wrangling over the hundreds of amendments lawmakers want to attach to the package.
More than 400 amendments were filed Monday night. Among them were a proposal from Rep. Steve Womack, R-Ark., to eliminate funding for the President Barack Hussein Obama's, D-Kenya, Teleprompter.
And there was another one from Rep. Randy Neugebauer, R-Texas, to strip funding for the alteration, repair or improvement of the executive residence of the White House and instead divert that amount to deficit reduction.
Womack told Fox News Tuesday afternoon that he pulled his amendment because he wasn't able to get an estimate on how much it would save.
Steve Womack, R-AR |
"I think we made our point," Womack said. "We're asking people to do more with less. And I think the president ought to lead by example. He is already a very gifted speaker. And I think that's one platform he could do without."
Eliminating the expense of teleprompters could save the taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars, which is something that should be considered in view of the current financial crisis and budget constraints.
According to media sources, President Obama is said to be very articulate, so a teleprompter may be unnecessary.

Tiger Woods Considering Switch to Islam
Consulting a Mullah for advice |
conversion to Islam, according to anonymous sources.
Many black athletes have switched to Islam, so there is much precedent for this. Some feel that Christianity is the "white man's religion" and so they felt more comfortable as Muslims.
Legendary boxer Cassius Clay became Muhammed Ali in 1964. Basketball player Lew Alcindor became Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1967. Football player Bobby Moore became Ahmad Rashād in 1971. Boxer Eddie Gregory became Eddie Mustafa Muhammad in 1972.
Basketball player Chris Jackson became Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf in 1972, and boxing champ Mike Tyson converted to Islam while in prison in 1994.
But this really isn't a political statement for Woods. He has other, more sensible reasons for considering this switch in religions.
According to informed sources Woods said "It just seems like the trendy thing to do, with President Obama being a Muslim and all." Plus, there are additional benefits. "I heard I can have as many wives as I want" he said. "And then there's that whole 72 Virgins in Paradise thing. I could really get into that."

President Obama Wants "discretionary budget freeze" ... after increasing spending by 84%
"What the hell do I do now?" |
And after President Obama increased federal spending by a whopping 84%, he now wants to freeze discretionary spending at that level!
Amid the other staggering numbers in the budget President. Obama sent to Congress on Monday, the debt stands out as a new record.
Congress will need to vote to raise the debt limit again later this year, because the deficits will be so large.
President Obama‘s 2011 budget will be the biggest one-year jump in debt in history, or nearly $2 trillion in a single year. And the administration says it will reach $15.476 trillion by Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year, to reach 102.6% of gross domestic product (GDP) — the first time since World War II that dubious figure has been reached.
That's right. You read that correctly. In seven more months our national debt will exceed our GDP. And this is coming from a man who campaigned on the pledge to reduce the deficit!
Tax cuts have historically created new jobs |
By every single imaginable measurement all this bloated spending has made the economy worse, not better.
We have more people unemployed, more people collecting food-stamps, more people living below the poverty level, and more national debt than the rest of the world combined.
But typical of liberal Democrat thinking... "when something fails miserably, then you need to do more of it." Which is exactly what the president's budget will do. He will spend even more more money (that we don't have, and will need to borrow) on some hope that this will somehow create some jobs.
It really makes you wonder what might have happened if the Administration "spent" half that wasted money on tax cuts? Could the result have possibly been worse? Historically, tax cutting has always created more jobs, by really stimulating the economy. It worked for JFK, and it worked for Ronald Reagan.
But this administration thinks the road to prosperity will be paved by borrowing more money, spending it on frivolous programs, then raising taxes.
You also have to wonder if that $3.6 trillion in new debt were spent on things Obama promised to do, but never did, would have created some new jobs. Things like real infrastructure projects.
Perhaps we could have created a few jobs by building that border fence?
Instead, the President wants to build high speed rails to take people to jobs they don't have faster. Of course, this might simply be paying back GE for their generous campaign donations...

Reagan Spinning in Grave due to Obama Comparisons
Washington DC, Feb 12, 2011. President Barack Hussein Obama, D-Kenya, has recently been trying to compare himself with Ronald Reagan, R-CA, the finest President since Abraham Lincoln.
In a desperate attempt to create some credibility where none exists, the Obama handlers have tried to compare him to FDR, then JFK and now to Ronald Reagan.
Just a few days ago President Obama referred to himself as "the gipper" in a flagrant attempt to associate himself with Ronald Reagan.
If ever there were two Presidents that were polar opposites then it is Barack Hussein Obama and Ronald Reagan.
Reagan created 27 million new jobs, while Obama lost 3 million jobs. Obama has set new records for debt, deficits, unemployment, food stamp users, people living below the poverty level, and has dangerously expanded government. Reagan drove down both inflation and unemployment. Obama has driven both measures steeply upwards.
Reagan won the Cold War, defeating the Soviet Empire through strength and determination, while Obama apologizes to our enemies and alienates our friends. He has bungled every domestic and foreign policy initiative he has touched and made every problem he "inherited" worse.
Reagan cut taxes and brought greater economic opportunity and prosperity to America. Obama raises taxes, borrows money, and throws it around and has very little to show for it.
It took Ronald Reagan eight full years to add $1.7 trillion to the national debt. Barack Obama did this in his first six months in office. In his first two years, Obama has added $4 trillion in new debt.
Reagan's major accomplishments were restoring our economy, rebuilding our military, winning the Cold War, liberating hundreds of millions from communist oppression in Eastern Europe, and ultimately reuniting Germany.
Obama's ONLY accomplishment was "repealing the ban on gays in the military."
Reagan accomplished all this despite not having solid majorities in either the Senate or the House. He had a slim majority in the Senate, and the Democrats had solid control of the House. Obama has had supermajorities in both houses for his first two years, and accomplished almost nothing.
Time Magazine is out this week with a photoshopped cover of President Ronald Reagan with his arm around President Barack Obama. This manipulated image is as outrageous as it is factually dishonest.
Both men may share the same title, but the way they view America and the world is quite different. The differences are even starker when you hear Reagan and Obama speaking about America.
Reagan uplifted our nation after a disastrous administration of high inflation, interest rates and a prolonged hostage crisis in Iran. President Obama, by contrast, has attacked big business, Wall Street and the banking industry. While overseas, he offered our apology for being an arrogant nation. These actions have been far from uplifting.
In 1982, the national debt was about 40% of gross domestic product. For Obama, after more than 15 months in office, the figure is about 90%. Obama is rapidly running out of people to borrow money from, and printing more won't solve the problem. When our dollars become worth less our creditors will simply demand more of them.
There really is no comparison between Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama.
This bizarre and deceptive political strategy has caused Ronald Reagan to spin in his grave, and motivated the former President to file a greivance with God over the matter.
God was sympathetic, but said he has no influence over President Obama, since he worships Allah, and imposing His own will would violate His doctrine of "free will" and muddy the waters when the time came to judge Obama.
"There really isn't much I can do" God told us. "But I'll tell you one thing, if you reelect this dope, I will stop shedding my grace on America."

Washington State: Electric Cars Must Pay Gas Tax
Seattle WA, Feb 10, 2011. The Washington State Senate is about to adopt a new tax that would require an annual registration fee of $100 on electric vehicles.
This new tax would be in addition to other registration and licensing fees currently assessed on all highway vehicles, and the tax could be raised as needed in the future.
They say they need this new tax because electric cars don't use gasoline, so gas tax revenues are down. It seems that the Washington State Senate is concerned about losing revenue from state gas taxes from plug-in vehicles.
Proponents of the new tax say they need the money to help maintain the highways. They tell us that electric car owners aren't paying their fair share, since they currently aren't paying gas taxes, and those taxes are used for highway and road maintenance.
This is just one of many schemes planned o bring in more tax revenue. Washington State has also been toying with the idea to charge vehicle taxes based on "miles driven" like some European nations do.
What kind of electric vehicle is included under this policy? Under this policy, only "vehicles that use propulsion units powered solely by electricity" are charged $100. So, that means that owners of a 2011 Chevy Volt won't have to pay this fee, but owners of the 2011 Nissan Leaf will.
This seems unfair, considering that plug-in hybrid owners can do most of their driving in all-electric mode, but will still be exempt from this fee. Of course, it also might be due to the fact that GM is one of President Barack Husein Obama's, D-Kenya, corporate sponsors, and Nissan isn't.
In the near future, it appears that the owners of neighborhood electric vehicles (NEVs) will be the ones mostly affected by this bill.
This is unfortunate, considering that most NEVs drive far less and are lighter in weight than conventional petroleum vehicles, meaning that their impact on Washington's roads is rather minimal.

They say they need this new tax because electric cars don't use gasoline, so gas tax revenues are down. It seems that the Washington State Senate is concerned about losing revenue from state gas taxes from plug-in vehicles.
The irony of this is that drivers were encouraged to buy electric vehicles in order to save money on gas and help save the planet from global warming. But if enough people do this, then the gas tax revenue will drop drastically, so a new tax will be needed to replace that lost revenue.
Proponents of the new tax say they need the money to help maintain the highways. They tell us that electric car owners aren't paying their fair share, since they currently aren't paying gas taxes, and those taxes are used for highway and road maintenance.
But Washington State currently has one of the highest gas taxes in the nation, thirty seven cents a gallon. And most of the money raised by this tax isn't being used for highway maintenance right now. Most gets confiscated by the Sate and applied to the general budget, and not for the intended purpose.
This is what happens when government becomes addicted to taxes, and uses high taxes on specific things to change your behavior.
If they succeed in changing your behavior, then their revenue falls, and they must either cut spending or invent some other tax to recover the money. And very few politicians today want to cut any spending.
The very same process could apply to cigarette taxes too. And, Washington State has one of the highest cigarette taxes in the nation... a little over $3 per pack.
When they hike the cigarette tax high enough, then some people might quit smoking. And then they will need to replace the lost tax revenue by taxing them for not smoking. Which is precisely what they are doing when they charge owner of electric cars a "make up" tax to replace the gas taxes lost.
