Madcow is the "top dope" at MSNBC now that Keith Olbermann is gone, and she can't tell a real story from a fake one.
She fell for a fake story online and report it as truth. The best part was that Rachel Maddow made an idiot of herself while mocking conservatives.
Her targets included Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, former ambassador to the UN John Bolton and Stephenson Billings at ChristWire.org. The only problem was that Stephenson Billings is not a real person.
The article that caught Maddow's eye called for an "American-led invasion" into Egypt and begged former Alaska governor Sarah Palin to lead the war cry.
"The escalating crisis in Egypt could become a defining moment for Sarah Palin," the imaginary Billings wrote on the satire blog. "Governor Palin needs to speak out publicly and forcibly for an American-led invasion to protect our interests in North Africa."

On Tuesday, proving once again that it takes a lot of rationalizations to be a liberal these days, Madcow blamed her mistake on Fox News's Glenn Beck and other prominent conservative!
In a lengthy segment which began with Madcow bashing conservatives such as House Speaker John Boehner, R-OH, former President George W. Bush, and former United Nations ambassador John Bolton.
After more than six minutes of conservative/Beck bashing, Maddow finally addressed her pathetic gaffe from the previous evening:
Eventually, Ms. Madcow had to recant, and offered this explanation: "Yes, those folks asking [Sarah Palin] to invade North Africa it turns out are writers for a satirical website called ChristWire.org, which is really actually very excellent. Props to them for a brilliant piece of satire, shame on us for believing it, but in a world where China taking over New Zealand is what passes for real analysis on the situation in Egypt, how do we know that's not satire, too?"
And that was Madcow’s explanation for getting duped by a satirical website: in her view, conservatives, especially Glenn Beck, are saying all kinds of crazy things. As a result, it’s become difficult for her to know what’s real and what’s a spoof.
Since Madcow can't seem to tell reality from fiction, then maybe she should stop reporting on what conservatives are saying.
When she finally did admit to her error, she somehow had to blame it on Glen Beck! Does this sound vaguely similar to a certain Kenyan in the White House?
Oh, I really needed a good laugh today, and that story delivered. I wonder how many stories they report from fictitous website sources. BTW, she is a K.D. Lang lookalike....keen observation. Still chuckling!
ReplyDeleteI THINK MS MADCOW WOULD REALLY BE A BETTER REPORTER FOR OUR WEEKLY READER THAN FOR MSLSD. SHE COULD FIND INNOCENT LITTLE MINDS TO CONVERT TO HER LIBERAL RELIGION. FAILING THAT SHE COULD ALWAYS REPORT FOR THE HIGH TIMES MAGAZINE, I BET SHE KNOWS A THING OR THREE ABOUT BONGS.
